October is gone, but we still need to be aware and take care of ourselves.

I did not have a mammogram until I was in my late 50s.

I was afraid to have it.  I don't like pain.  I saw one being done

and knew what it was going to be like. 

I became very ill in 2008-2011.  I went to ER four times

during that time frame.  I kept getting misdiagnosed.  

After the 4th ER visit, and discovering that I had gall stones and

needed surgery, all the tests came before.  

One of them was my first mammogram!

It was not so bad after all.  The lady that did mine was so nice and considerate of my feelings.  It did not hurt.  It went by very fast.  I was glad that I finally faced the fear.  My results came back negative so I was very happy I did this.

For those who are afraid...don't be...you are worth it to take this time and take care of you!
